Bio
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in the city of Sun Valley. My father owned and operated a business doing custodial and maintenance work for local businesses: it was while working with him as a youth that I learned the value of work, the importance of being the best at what you do, and how good it felt after a job well done. My family later moved to southern Utah to run a craft store, the Treasure Chest, and while there I learned how to handle cash, update store inventory, and most importantly, I learned value of customer service. I made my way through high school, and various fast food gigs, and then spent two years in Japan as a religious emissary. This experience prepared me for being professional in appearance and manners, learning how to present myself, and to make friends and acquaintances throughout my life. College life and a freshly minted pilot license in my pocket started me down the path for a career in professional flight, with a back up career in accounting. However, through a twist of fate, accounting came to the forefront of my career, and flying became the hobby. My first job in the Central Valley was very different than the private accounting I was doing for a local flight school, and from that point fund accounting changed my life. Now, recently retired after 28 years of service to K-12 schools, I embark on a new chapter in my life eager to share my knowledge, skills and experience to assist the K-12 education community to reach new heights.
