Effective School Leadership: Threat Assessment In Schools Our entire country has been plagued by school violence and potential school shootings …
Our entire country has been plagued by school violence and potential school shootings for a number of years. Many politicians, law enforcement personnel, and school officials have grappled with this problem generating potential solutions, and changes to the law, and attempting to figure out how to stop the violence.
One of the key components of being able to stop potential school violence is the use of “Threat Assessment”. Every effective school leader should have a Threat Assessment team at his or her school led by the principal. The research for this concept was done in 2002 by the US Secret Service and the US Department of Education. Their insights provide effective educators with real potential solutions to this problem that are summarized in this informative seminar.
We all need to look at this issue carefully, train our fellow educators, and stop the next potential perpetrator from doing harm to children.
